Here's something you don't see too often - a wind
stabilizer on a wigwag (notice the extra disc above the motor box). Dave
Epling sent in pictures of the only two wigwags that I am aware of that
has this nifty little option. These were used to keep the banner in position
during high winds. These seemed to be common along the California coastline
and Central Valley. Two wigwags are
on display at the Orland Fairgrounds that sports this rarity. If you
know of any others that survive, please email me.
