Museum wigwags/Ranching Heritage
The Ranching Heritage Center
Lubbock, Texas
This is part of the campus of Texas Tech
University. It's mostly dedicated to the history of ranching in west Texas.
But, they have a
Santa Fe cattle train on the premises, set up
in front of the relocated Ropes (Tx) SF depot, with an ex-CB&Q engine
painted as a
Ft Worth and Denver engine. This is an upper
quadrant Magnetic Signal Co. wigwag with an uncommon base.
Also note the Union Switch and signal Style T-2
semaphore to the left. Most likely of ATSF heritage.
Both photos and info by Hume Kading
of Railway Preservation News.
