This wigwag looks to be either ex-Northern Pacific, or
Great Northern. Typical of
wigwags in the Northwestern sates, it is mounted on top
of the mast without the
use of a cantilever. NP and GN were known for this. It
is located at a small park
display of some random ex-GN railroad equipment. Brian
Fritz has more:
"...attached photo of a wig wag signal that is at a small
museum in Cashmere WA.
Cashmere is about 10 miles (I guess) west of Wenatchee.
At one point it was
a minorly important location on the Great Northern. Anyhow,
there's a small
"history" museum there, that has a bit of track and GN
coach of some sort
and a GN wood caboose, and a couple of signal stands."

Robert Ulberg sends us another view showing the ex-GN
coach. (4/02)
