How To Join

The CT Metro-North / Shore Line East Rail Commuter Council

The Commuter Council’s members are all unpaid volunteer commuters, appointed by various members of the Legislature to two to three year terms.

To join our group you must be:

1)                 A commuter on Metro-North or Shore Line East who resides in CT.

2)                 Willing to attend monthly meetings (except for July & August), usually in the evenings, in towns along the railroads.

3)                 Be willing to work on various subcommittees, bringing your time and talents to the task.

4)                 Get yourself appointed by one of the lawmakers (click here for the list), subject to confirmation hearings in Hartford.
