1. New CSX re-built "SD40-3" 4004 stayed a spell at Paintsville where I saw it on Sept. 3, 2011. It is former SD40-2 no. 8021. They won't win any beauty contest, but they are a relief from a wide-cab world.

7. CSX AC60s are starting to get new paint when they visit the shop. No. 648 is at Shelby on 9-18-2011.
8. CSX GP40-2 "mother" 6977 and Road Slug 2377 lead a 61-car Q697 at Betsy Layne, Ky., on Sept. 4, 2011. I've noticed several of these slug sets with the last two numerals of their number the same.
9. This wide load train came by eastbound on Sept. 10, 2011. CSX AC44 leads idler car NAHX 66142, QTTX 131266 and CSX 920685.
10. QTTX 131266 was built by Trinity in 9-99. It has a capacity of 470,600 lbs. The cylinder it is carrying was stencilled "Hooper Welding Ent. Ltd., Oakville, Ontario. I have no idea what it is.
11. CSX 920685 is a flat modified to carry complete switch assemblies.
