A Two Dome Tank Car
This two dome
tanker was a quick four hour project. Bob simply took two old
AF® track cleaning car tanks, removed one end from each and
glued them side by side with Pro-Weld. He then placed them on the
chassis of an AF® tank car. To finish the project Bob covered
the seam with strip styrene and added a bit more strip styrene to
complete the catwalks. The car was finally airbrushed gray and
black and lettered with Champ HO decals. We believe this is the
only two dome tanker available in S other than one in a craftsman
kit form offered by LVM.
Editor's Note: I'm told by Chris Zizzo
that American Hi-Rail, when you can find them, offers a painted, RTR,
Gulf tanker that is a dead ringer for the 1 and 3 dome AF versions.
Chris says he saw and handled them at York.
