Steve
Kutash's S
scale model railroad occupies a large area of his basement at his
home in Shelton, CT. Steve's layout, as seen from the pics below, is
a fine example of a pike built according to the NASG's S Mod
Standards. The layout is completely modular which means that it can
be used interchangeably with any other layout built according to NASG
Standards, and Steve can move modules around in any way he wants.
Steve built his all important split corner modules using guidelines
created by the late S scale pioneer Bill Krause and his layout, in
many ways, stands today as a tribute to Bill. The split corner pieces
are an integral part of the CT S Gauger's modular layout that we take
on the road with us to various train shows throughout the state.
Steve operates on code .125 handlaid track with Kurtz Kraft hand held
tethered throttles.

National Bank by Design Preservation Models (DPM). Steve
has kitbashed the structure to S scale by raising the
floors at each level.

kitbashed HO structure by DPM--Roberts Dry Goods. Note
how the S scale figure is just the right
size.
