Here's another New England country scene on Charlie Bettinger's layout. Note the backdrop which was handpainted by Charlie on the backside of sheet linoleum. Charlie manages to blend the background scenery of autumn foliage into the painted backdrop for a more three dimensional effect. |
The photo at right shows yet another view of autumn with its blazing contrasts of bright color. Note again the multi-level effect of Charlie's modeling techniques and the sweeping blend of scenic elements. Click the photo at right to see a larger image. |
The CP Rail freight makes its approach to the Korber HO scale power plant pictured on the right. Charlie liberally uses structures from both "O" and "HO," oftentimes kitbashing and modifying the ones that he feels might be compatible with "S" scale. Note the smoke created by black and gray tinted cotton rising from the smokestacks. -- Click on the power plant photo at right to see a larger image. |
