Hamden Street Grade Crossings

The following photos are courtesy of the Archives & Special Collections at the Thomas J. Dodd Research Center
University of Connecticut Libraries. They were taken in March, 1967 and show the grade crossing at Goodrich Street looking west toward the intersection at Dixwell Avenue.

This is a straight ahead westerly view to the intersection of Goodrich Street and Dixwell Avenue. The building at left, the "Family Bowl" was formerly the "Dixwell Theatre." It has an interesting Art Deco style architecture. The Sterling and Susman building was a clothing shop.

The following photos were taken in September, 2003. They show the still extant trackage at grade crossings in southern Hamden near Dixwell Avenue.
