Southington

The following photos were taken in June, 2004. They show abandoned trackage through the center of Southington, CT parallel to Queen Street and heading south to the I-84 underpass where the tracks end. I'm not very familiar with this area so if anyone has any information to add please contact me.

All photos by Craig S. O'Connell

This is the grade crossing near LesCare Kitchens in Southington. You can see the plant in the background. Just a few years ago trains ran past this facility.

This is the same grade crossing looking south.

Looking southbound along the tracks.

An industrial siding. I'm not sure of the industry this rail siding served.

Industrial siding heading southbound. The I-84 underpass is visible in the distance straight ahead.

This is the i-84 underpass. The tracks, heading south toward Cheshire, end here.

This is the northbound view. I'm standing under the I-84 underpass. Photo is grainy because of the poor lighting.

This is the same turnout as one pictured above but looking in a different direction.
