After having had such a great day trainwatching last Saturday in the Dunkirk area, I decided to head back to that area. Today, I took a trip out to Pomfret, New York which is about 3 or 4 miles west of the City of Dunkirk. The Van Buren Road crossing was a nice, wide open place to take pictures, and today, the weather was great. You can get to the Van Buren Road crossing by taking NY State Rte. 5 west from Buffalo through Dunkirk, to Pomfret, then make a left on Wilbur Road, then another left on Van Buren, the crossing is right there after the turn. The crossing is at Milepost 44.53. Special Thanks to Ian Murray for help in getting the Symbols for these trains. Here is what I saw today in Pomfret:
Conrail SD60I #5614 leads the westbound SEEL-6B at 10:36am on Track #1.
Conrail SD40-2 #6492 leads this westbound TV train on Track #1 at 10:45am.
Leading this westbound on Track #1 is Conrail SD50 #6751 at 10:56am.
Leading the eastbound TV-12 at 11:00am is Conrail #6230, a C40-8W on Track #2.
