The CP 5000 series consisted of two different models. Two GP30s, numbered #5000-5001, were both built by GMD in 1963 as CP #8200-8201, and renumbered into the 5000 group in 1965. Rated at 2,250 Hp, these units had a 2-cycle 16 cylinder 567 turbocharged engine. Units #5002-5013 are GMD built GP35s, built in 1964 as CP #8202-8213, and renumbered to CP #5002-5013 in 1965. Units #5014-5025 were built in 1965-1966. All GP35s were powered by a 16 cylinder 567 turbocharged engine, generating 2,500 Hp.
