The units numbered in the CP 10 and 20 series were Canadian Locomotive Company built 44-ton D-T-C (Diesel Torque Converter) 44H44A1 type switchers, or commonly named DT-2. They were built between 1957 and 1960, and were powered by 2 250 Hp. Caterpillar D-337 engines. They were all retired or sold between 1968 and 1979. CP #10 and #11 were originally constructed by CLC under serial numbers #2956 and #2957. CP rejected these units because of overweight. New units were constructed to become CP #10 and #11. Parts of the original #10 and #11 were used to construct DT-2's #17 and #18.
CP #10-11 outshopped Feb. 22, 1957 (plate date 3/1957); CP #12-13 outshopped Jan. 31, 1958 (plate date 1/1958); CP #14-16 outshopped Mar. 27, 1958 (plate date 1/1958 for #14-15, 3/1958 for #16); CP #17 outshopped May 7, 1959 (plate date 4/1959); CP #18 outshopped May 15, 1959 (plate date 5/1959); CP #19 outshopped Apr. 29, 1960 (plate date 4/1960); CP #20 outshopped May 12, 1960 (plate date 5/1960); CP #21 outshopped May 17, 1960 (plate date 5/1960); CP #22-23 outshopped May 30, 1960 (plate date 5/1960).
