Canadian National Railways recognized the
historic significance of 6218 when it issued this train order for the
locomotive’s final excursion trip, and again by donating it as a memorial
in Fort Erie. Will you recognize its
historic value as well and help support its preservation?
CN 6218 was last
restored in the nineteen-eighties.
Since then it has been on display, but exposed to the elements. Thirty years outside has caused severe
deterioration which will eventually destroy the locomotive. Estimates of the cost to preserve the locomotive
for the future range as high as $400,000!
This seems like an enormous amount of money, but it breaks down into many small
donations.
There are three ways you can help preserve 6218.
v
Become a member of the Friends of 6218 today!
v
Donate whatever funds you can.
v
Donate your help to raise funds.
Don’t let the 6218
disappear into history. Help make it
live forever!
