The Southern Appalachia Railway Museum (SARM) hosted acelebrity on its excursion train on Aug. 18. Chris Guenzler has ridden trains more than a million miles in the past 27 years. A teacher in Santa Ana, Calif., Guenzler rides Amtrak trains almost daily and has covered the entire Amtrak route (22,000 miles) twice. He has ridden trains in all 50 states and many foreign countries. He documents all of his milestones "100,000, 250,000, 500,000 and 1 million miles" on his Web site, www.trainweb.org/chris/chris.html. Guenzler has already posted pictures on his web site of his trip with SARM, plus additional pictures taken as he drove up US 27 to take the excursion train at Stearns, Ky. SARM is s nonprofit organization.
