We are all ready for the second runby at this location. After each photo runby, I changed position.

The reverse move. We reboarded the train and headed back to Ely. Elizabeth went into the gift shop and purchased the Nevada Northern Railway book of the Images of Rail series for Chris. Elizabeth dropped me off at the motel and she went to Subway to get us lunch since we did not feel like having the boxed lunch they offered. We returned to the station and boarded the train, taking the same seats by the stove as we had this morning.
The same consist of the train took us west to the Keystone Route and proceeded to the only tunnel on the railroad, which is also a fallout shelter for the City of Ely in case of a nuclear attack. We detrained then had to climb a hill to get to the photo location along US 50.

Photo runby fifteen. We returned to the train by walking along the highway around the tunnel where the train picked us up, but we had to cross in front of the train to get to a safe boarding location on the far side. We then proceeded up the canyon to our next location.

Reverse move for the last runby of the day.
Photo runby twenty, the last one of the day. The train took us back to East Ely but before I detrained, I had one last picture to take.
The artwork on the door of the Outfit Car caught my eye. Elizabeth and I returned to the gift shop once more to get a Christmas ornament, a mug and lapel pins of the three steam engines for Elizabeth's collection. We then went to McDonald's for dinner as there is not a large selection of restaurants in Ely and neither of us felt like a heavy dinner. We brought the food back to the room and ate it while I watched the Pittsburgh Penguins defeat the New York Islanders on Kris Letang's second goal of the game in overtime with just seconds left. We wrote the story and called it a night.
