Bill Compton and I decided to chase the Union Pacific Big Boy 4-8-8-4 4014 as it came into Southern California. It would be the day it run from Yermo to West Colton. Chris Parker decided to join us so Bill got the Chris's a motel room in Barstow and one for him. Chris would take Metrolink 312 from LAUPT to the Rancho Cucumomga station. I came up with a plan of five excellent photo locations all in fantastic morning to mid afternoon lighting. I worked the morning before the trip then Bill and Maryann picked me up and we drove to his home in Hunington Beach to drop off Maryann. We drove the Interstate 405 to the 605 to 10 which we took to Milliken Avenue and Chris Parker was waiting for us. We took Interstate 15 to Devore and Cajon Blvd and CA 138 to the Summit Valley Road to the Frost Flyover to check to see if we could still take picture there and we could drove to Barstow and checked into the Motel 6 there where I watched NCIS while Bill and Chris got dinner. We called it an early night.
