We are dedicating the La Plata Spring Railfan Event 2015 to the memory of Winston Walker. We wish you were here with us and you are truly missed. My day started early and I put the corrections Elizabeth sent me from yesterday's story. I then had breakfast in the lobby of the Depot Inn & Suites before returning to the Pullman Suite where I put the year 2012 back on my 2011-Present trip page on my web site and then started on 2011. I met Jim Choiniere in the lobby at 9:25 AM and we drove over to the old bridge west of Gibbs.
BNSF 7283 East at the old bridge west of Gibbs.
Amtrak's Southwest Chief Train 4 at the old bridge west of Gibbs. On the rear were the private cars "Pacific Sands", "Silver Splendor" and "Tioga Pass" with Norman Orfall on the rear platform of his car. It is always good to see Norm out and about.
BNSF 9615 East at the old bridge west of Gibbs. We returned to La Plata and I dropped Jim off at the Chris Guenzler Million Mile Lookout Point and I went back to the hotel to wait for John Green to arrive. Maria fixed the television in the Pullman Suite to play DVDs then I finished the 2011 stories so that job was done. John checked in and we drove out to the Lookout Point to pick up Jim and headed east to the old bridge out at Rutledge.
We just missed the westbound train.
A BNSF train was disabled on Main Track 2 really cutting down the photo angles.
BNSF 8230 West at the old bridge west of Rutledge.
BNSF 5002 West here. From here we headed back to the old bridge west of Baring.

BNSF 7189 West at the Route J grade crossing. We then drove to Colton's Steakhouse in Kirksville where I had a good steak dinner then returned to the Depot Inn & Suites where I wrote the story before I relaxed the evening away.
