These are my two Westvaco owned pulpwood flat cars. WVCX
500-544 were all 50' pulpwood flats that matched the Walthers
model very well. All of the cars were acquired second hand
prior to 1982 from the RF&P. I started with two RF&P
decorated models. I faded the car with Pan Pastels and used
a sponge to apply the rust. The patch outs are black decal
film and Microscale stencil decals. Interestingly, the real
cars had no space between "WVCX" and "523". The spacing was
the same between all the characters. These cars were common
at the Westvaco pulpwood yard at Berkeley Springs, WV, so were
needed to model that industry.
