STATIONMASTERS
1375. Stationmasters report to and receive
instructions from the Superintendent or such official as he may designate,
and will comply with Rules 2 and 3.
1376. They have charge of the passenger station
and the persons employed therein, except as otherwise provided. It is their
duty to see that the station and various premises are kept in proper order
and in safe and sanitary condition. They will preserve ordr and prevent
confusion in handling passengers, attend courteously to their comfort and
wants and see that employes do the same.
1377. Unless otherwise provided, they must
see that cars in trains starting from their stations are inspected, cleaned
and properly equipped; that trainmen are ready for duty at the appointed
time and that trains are properly made up and leave on time.
1378. When passenger service is disarranged,
those interested shall be informed of the probable length of time of the
interruption, and when ascertained, the time that service is expected to
be restored. Announcement must be made in waiting rooms and on platforms,
and to passengers when purchasing tickets.
