| Transit Terminals Uptown: How Many? Where? We already have a city bus transfer
center on East Trade Street. The NCDOT and the City of Charlotte are making plans for a
Multi-Modal Transportation Center (MMC) on West Trade Street. This center will provide a
terminal for Amtrak passenger trains and probably long distance bus service. It may also
be serviced by light rail and local bus as well.
Should all of these transportation services have been combined into one transit center
so that transferring from one mode to the other would be seamless? If it is too late to do
that now what can be done to link these transit centers together?

newsletter, we will take a look at these proposals, try to sort out the facts, and make
some suggestions on what in our opinion should be done regarding our Uptown transit
