In 1993 the UP brought big steam to the NRHS Convention in Chicago. It powered an excursion down the former C&EI to central Illinois and return. It wasn't a good day for photography, but the sun popped out during the photo runby.

The Anthracite Railroad Historical Society had a program to restore and operate historic equipment formerly owned by the coal haulers of Pennsylvania. One such unit was the Central RR of New Jersey F unit, here at Nesquehoning PA in 1991.

The Wisconsin and Calumet RR ran a dinner train out of Fox Lake, IL near Chicago. Diners got to sup while enjoying the rural scenes of northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin.
