EMD
By far the largest fleet on the
CaNW roster is the EMD locomotives ranging from small SW1200 switchers
right through to today's high horsepower SD70ACe's and SD70M-2's.
Because of the vast ammount of EMD locomotives on the CaNW they
can be seen anywhere on the system doing yard work, branchline
work or most commonly seen out on the mainline. The shop forces
on CaNW love the EMD's for there great reliability and ease of
maintenance and the EMD's continue to work away as some of the
older GP units are reaching over 30 years of service!!!
