Carriage Shed Track Almost Finished

Twenty years after the carriage shed was built, the track in front of the shed is almost complete. New track with an additional turnout for Road 6 is under construction at the present time.

The carriage shed was built as a double bay building with three roads in each bay. A two-road electric locomotive shed was added to the east side. The electric locomotive tracks were connected to our Branch line in 1987. The carriage shed tracks have been progressively connected up with major trackwork in the 1990s bringing all roads into use except Road 6. Now finally, with the help of Cameron Lill's earthmoving equipment, track is being laid for the sixth road and will be finished in a few weeks time.
