English Tour Party Visits Ferrymead

On the 27th of April, an English party of thirty railway enthusiasts visited Ferrymead Heritage Park. The Society ran four trains for them: railcar RM 56, a passenger train and two mixed goods train, with locomotives DE 1429, CB 113 and W 192 taking turns with the different trains. The tour party was very impressed with our site and the operation that day. As we struggle to cover our costs on an average running day, the additional expense of running a steam train and extra trains was well worth the charter fee. We also had a visit from an English tour group on March 9th.
