Canterbury Railway Society Inc A typical set of frame lever points fitted with a facing points lock. The facing points lock ensures that the points are locked and prevented from moving when a train is crossing them. It is called a facing points lock because a train can be derailed when travelling over points in the facing direction. Image © Patrick Dunford 2001 - 2002 |
