About CAMRRC:
The Central Arizona
Model Railroad Club serves the Quad City region (Prescott,
Prescott Valley, Chino Valley & Dewey-Humboldt) of
central Arizona. The club does not have a layout but
serves as an information and social resource for its members
as well as engaging in public service activities. Many
members have home layouts representing all the popular
scales and gauges. The club meets on the second
Wednesday each month at 7:00PM with a business meeting
normally followed by a model, prototype, or local railroad
historical presentation. The meeting is preceded at 6:30
with some social time and a mini swap meet. Visitors
are always welcome.
In addition to the
monthly meetings, the Club sponsors home layout open houses
and social events (annual picnic and Christmas dinner) open
to members and their guests. The Beat the Heat Swap
Meet, the largest in Northern Arizona, is held on the third
Saturday of August near downtown Prescott and typically has
over 90 sales tables. Operating layouts,
demonstrations, seminars and layout open houses open to the
public are also provided. In early December each year
the club organizes model railroading displays in association
with the Gingerbread Village display at the Prescott
Resort.
