Minutes from June 1, Buhl Model Railroad
Society. Next meeting: Aug. 24: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at
Preschool Room, Buhl Community Rec. Center
1. Fund Raising? The question was
brought up whether we have permission to raise funds? Answer:
Yes. We can do this carefully by communicating with the front
office to ensure that we don't interfere with their United Way
funding.
2. Relationship to the Buhl Community Recreation
Center? Answer: Full participation with the
Buhl CRC but not actually a part of the Buhl CRC board. We can have our
own independent treasury & treasure but do not have to be audited as a part
of the BCRC. They want us to "keep it simple." We are free
to use the Buhl name but work carefully with the office administration to ensure
that we are on the same page. We have the complete 100% approval of the
BCRC.
3. Our show dates of: Sat. December
19: 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 20: 1:00 p.m. to
5:00 p.m. are secure. Set-up continues to be: Dec. 19: 8 a.m.
to 3:00 p.m. Tear-down from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the
20th.
4. Question: Are there any other
additional scheduled activities at the BCRC for this time period?
NO.
5. Any costs incurred by train society membeers to
be submitted to our treasurer, Bob Dugan.
6. Tables: To inquire of the following
churches: St. Josephs, Sharon U. Methodist, Covenant
Presbyterian.
7. No venders: Exception of George
Dell.
8. Our desire: to immediately
begin to create fliers.
9. Desire: Pictures in display case of
the BCRC + set-up displays in the library promoting our train show.
10. Desire: To now begin advance
newspaper publicity.
11. George Dell: Internet auction
discussed. George Dell willing to submit the last two of his most recent
drawings which have never been made available for sale. Also talked about
a charge of $20 each for his drawings which would be numbered and signed by
George. Our board suggested that we also sell locally, using Sharon
