It's
not too late to display a model train in the Annual Holiday Model Train
show which will be held in the second floor gymnasium of the Recreation
Center, 28 N. Pine St. Sharon, Pa. The Show will run: Saturday,
December 11 and Sunday December 12 from 1:00pm to 5:00 pm both days.
A
ten square foot space can now be reserved for only $5.00 each.
Registration forms can be picked up at the front desk of the Buhl
Community Recreation Center or here.
Each year the model train
show has doubled in size. Not only is the show memorable with
over thirty running model train layouts running in all directions, but
as a participant you have the chance to share your hobby with the
community. In addition to model train layouts, many choose to
display memorabilia and related train collections.
This year's
show also features live blue grass music, a hobo village display, two
water shows by the "Shenango Valley Merimaids", plus a children's story
teller from the Shenango Valley Library who will read children's
stories about trains, particularly the favorite: "The Polar
Express."
This
year in conjuction with the model train show, a Holiday Doll Show is
scheduled. It will be in the Timblin Annex adjacent to the main
gymnasium. Anyone wishing to display their dolls and collections
should contact Debbie DiCarlo at 724-981-3700. enter, second floor
gymnasium. The
holiday show particularly appeals to those who find their homes too
small to display their model train sets or doll collections. The
Buhl has lots of space for display and invites your participation.
