Rail Trains in Wisconsin Rapids

Several rail trains have gone west on the Taylor Subdivision.

There are very few sidings out there. The rail trains park on the west side of Wisconsin Rapids and then head west at daylight.

As of July 31, 2013, I don't think they have laid rail as far west as City Point.

(this is a pole camera picture, I didn't get this view by climbing the 25th Street crossing signals)

Another day, another train, and now there's a pile of tie plates.
(and on August 7, some R J Corman equipment track equipment is showing up in Rapids)

The Threader car is by the engine this time.

.

And that night the empty rail train was parked on the old Soo Line 'Marshfield line',
or what's left of it, on the very northwest corner of Rapids.
Most of that track was pulled up about 1989.

The tracks cross over the old CNW right of way, and continue to the quarry on the south side.
The rail train fit, so I guess the track is at least a quarter mile long.

The tail is at the switch to Thiel Clay. That's a different threader than the orange CN.
