Three days of Rapids trains in June

These pictures were from just 3 days in June 2013.

Real variety of power by Dura Beauty Lane in Wisconsin Rapids.

.

BC Rail loco crossing the Wisconsin River.

.

a load of regular rails will go west on the Taylor Sub.

.

A progressive Rail GP 15-2 came from Vermont. On a Monday night in June it was with the sand hoppers on the west side of Rapids.
It was reported to be going to Taylor Sand.

.

.

Gray GTW coming back from the Biron paper mill, going by the drainage pond near Coyne Junction.

.

A different GTW on a rail train on the west side of Rapids in June.

.

There's just two rows of rails left, so they must have been out late last evening laying out most of the load.

.

One car in the middle is different. It has rollers.

.

.

.

Headed west to cranberry bog country.

.

At the end of the day, the threader cars were parked.
(Another rail train came the next day to use these, and took them away.)

.

The empty rail train is on the main in Rapids.

.

And the yard loco is moving GATX hoppers of ballast that are loaded at the quarry on the west side of Rapids.
I only see these a few times a year, and I wonder what customer uses such small amounts.

.

And on the other end of the yard, there's a quick crew change on the main. I suspect they will get back to some coal train.

.

That was plenty of action for 3 days in June.
.

Here's links to U-tube of very good video of a rail train dropping rails last year up north.
