It was almost Labor Day, and there were track laborers from a contractor working on extending the spurs for Thiele Clay in Wisconsin Rapids.
Just a quick one day job by Wisconsin Rail and Steel of Green Bay, Wisconsin.
|Hand work. Good thing the new track is short. Enough space to park one more rail car.|
All done in one short day.
Considering just a trackmobile is moving cars here, one more car can save a lot of time.
|And some very interesting 2-bay tank trucks were here in the morning.|
Hoppers and tank cars are handled in the plant, mixing blends of clay and stuff.
The trackmobile can be busy getting cars through the building in the correct order.
In the Wisconsin Central days, the local switch engine could come to this place,
switch cars for two hours, and not even add or remove a car from the bunch.
I have gone back to an old photo program to get smaller file sizes for pictures for a web page.
Some might get blurry if you zoom in a lot. But it saves space for the server and downloads very fast.
If you want the full size picture, please contact me. An e-address is in the box on my index page.
