Trains around central Wisconsin, Autumn 2011

I have a few pictures from a variety of cities around central Wisconsin.
It's time to catch up and show them.

This series starts out in Marshfield, Wisconsin.

Below, a westbound CN crosses over Highway 13 on the west side of Marshfield.
I think there's more trains on Saturday than last year.
About every 45 minutes one direction or the other, and there isn't such a long lull in the afternoon.

This bridge is getting near 10 years old?

The Greenwood branchline used to switch off from the mainline about here,
but that ended in 1982. The big change from the highway in 2002 (?) wiped out all evidence of it.

One Saturday, I saw the tail end of a train along Okray Avenue north of the wye of Plover.

They appear to have come from Wisconsin Rapids with Taylor sand and paper mill traffic.

Just around the corner is the spur to the rag mill and Tommy's Turnpike.

There's an orange EJE engine.

.

.

The job from Plover switches the Stevens Point Division paper mill of New Page every afternoon.

.

.

The CN 4100 has been around Point, and for a few days in Plover, too.

.

An engine waits in Plover. They park over oil absorbent pads.
These high pictures make people wonder how I got the view. The camera is on a high pole.

.

.

A morning switch job picks up clay tankers from the east side of the Wisconsin River in Wisconsin Rapids.
All three New Page mills in the valley are in Chapter 11 but still operating.

.

And it snowed five inches wet and heavy on November 9th.
The electricity was off for hours in several areas. Most of the snow melted after 5 days.
