New Spur in Wisconsin Rapids

I don't know exactly when some new track was installed on the east side of Rapids,
but the ballast sure looks new.

It's always good to see new business.

This picture was taken in mid-March, when the snow almost melted.

.
And then it iced and snowed March 22nd, 2011.
(Enough ice to knock down the 2000-foot tower of WEAU TV 13)

When the sun came out, I took some pole pictures.
There's a stub switch for the future.
The curved spur has a derail and it's little yellow 'D' sign.

.

The long curved track goes to the Midwest Logistics cold storage building that was built last year.
And there's plenty of piles of sand to the right of the spur, so maybe something else will be built there.

This spur is a half-mile east of the former GBW yard.

It is a quarter mile east of Coyne,
the junction to the Biron paper mill.

Here is a zoomed view of Coyne
