The Victoria Pub
Whilst there's little
doubt that Bricklayers Arms originally derived its name from a local pub,
nobody can definitely say where it was located, or if it even survives
today.
However, directly opposite the Goods Building entrance in Pages Walk is
this lovely old place.
Nowadays of course
it's an instant sacking offence for any traincrew to have alcohol in their
system whilst on duty, but things were very different back in the days
of steam when working on a hot loco gave men a raging thirst....................
