The Underpass

This is the view to the north east from Rotherhithe Road Carriage sidings (now the Enterprise Industrial Estate). We are looking through the underpass to where the Long Ramp drops down. This is the route from the South Eastern Railway lines into Bricklayers' Arms.

 

....and this is the view in the opposite direction, taken from a train travelling over the nearest bridge. The red brick buildings now occupy the land which was once the Carriage Sidings.

The route into Bricklayers Arms' from the South Eastern side ran under the bridges which you can just see in the centre of the picture. Beyond these was North Kent West junction.
