The Russian Tank
Bricklayers Arms dominated
this part of London for over a century, it was the central focus of the
whole community who worked and lived all around. Surely there should be
something to tell future generations about what their ancestors did here
? Maybe a statue, or at least a little plaque ?
What might have been really fitting would be a locomotive mounted on a plinth...........but,
apparently not. Because this is barmy London someone has placed a
Russian tank at the top of Pages Walk, right on the spot where
the old passenger terminus once stood.
And just so it doesn't upset the local pacifists, it's got pink driving wheels, a groovy pseudo-camouflage pattern, and the barrel is disguised as a cigarette. Urrrrgh !!
