Introduction
The Lyndyll Sub is one of the most unheralded subdivisions in the western US. As part of the UP’s LA&SL line, it is part of a vital link between southern California and the eastern US. Trains traveling through the central portions of Utah are met with wide flat plateaus and high desert scenery. This wonderful backdrop in which to watch the action remains largely unexplored, at least as far as what is available online is concerned.
With favorable access
to the line, much of it running beside well paved roads, this sub provides
the railfan a choice of beautiful scenery and rustic old Americana as it
passes through the sparsely populated towns of Utah's farming belt. The
north / south orientation of the line favors the westbound trains more,
but locations are available to get a good eastbound shot or two as well,
especially in he high sun summer months (early in the morning that is)
