The BNSF railroad was created on September 22, 1995 by a merger between Burlington Northern and the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe. Creating one of the largest railway companies in the world, BNSF now boasts more than 33,500 miles of track and serves 28 states and 2 Canadian provinces. From Cajon to Tehachapi and everywhere along Route 66, this page will serve as the starting point to many sites in the southwestern USA, eventually branching out to other areas of the country. The change over from the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe, as well as, Burlington Northern, will be documented as the fleet slowly but surely changes to the bright orange "Pumpkins" of today.
The archive continues to grow so I have started separating
these locations to their own pages, just follow the link. You'll find roughly
20 to 25 pictures per page. I hope this helps cut down the transfer time
for each. As each section below grows, it will get it's own page. I also
hope to visit new areas of the southwest and start sections for those.
