The Southwestern Railroad (SW) serves the Phelps-Dodge copper mining operations in SW New Mexico,a grain hauling operation in western Oklahoma, and the former BNSF Carlsbad [NM] sub. Their SW-NM trackage was purchased from the Santa Fe in 1990.  SW is part of the Western Group of railroads which include the Cimarron Valley Railroad.
