IMRL
operated about 1300 miles of track once owned by Milwaukee Road and
later Soo Line in Iowa and Southern Minnesota extending eastward to
Chicago.
IMRL was featured in Sept 2000 TRAINS.
The DM&E made a purchase offer to IMRL in January 2002 for about
$150M. With purchase completion July 2002, IMRL was renamed Iowa,
Chicago and Eastern (ICE).
