Iowa Traction Railroad (IATR) began operations on July 4th 1897 with 10 miles of track carry passengers from west Mason City to Clear Lake, IA.  Today they own four "steeplecab" electric locomotives built by Baldwin-Westinghouse of 1917 - 1923 vintage. About 4 miles of original trackage is used today. IATR's main customer is the AGP elevator at Mason City. IATR interchanges with CPKC and UP in Mason City.
