UP 4017 on display at National Railroad Museum at Green Bay, WI, 9/17/01. 25 of these magnificent "Big Boy" locomotives were built between 1941 and 1944 for heavy freight service between Provo, UT, and Cheyenne, WY. They were in service until 1959. |
UP 4014 "Big Boy" returns to Cheyenne, WY, 5/08/14. 4014 was built in 1941, worked until 1959, and displayed in Los Angeles, CA, until early 2014. This locomotive returned to operational in May 2019. |
