The Iron Goat Trail is the abandoned Great Northern Railway line west of Stevens Pass.  Abandoned in 1929 with the opening of the 8-mile "New Cascade Tunnel", it was only recently cleared for hiking.  Please visit the Iron Goat Trail website for maps and history.
