The Ammonoosuc Valley Railway
Association is a group of local model railroaders, getting together
once a month to experience the enjoyment of model railroading with
others with similar interests. These gatherings are a combination of
out monthly meeting and an operating session or bull session at the
meeting host's home.
There are five classes of memberships
in the club:
1) Regular Membership shall be open to
any person 18 years or older interested in model railroading,
effective upon the payment of annual dues and acceptance
as a member at a regular meeting by a two-thirds
majority vote of the membership present. Regular members
shall be entitled to one vote and may hold an elected office.
$15/year.
2) Junior Membership shall be open to
anyone under the age of 18 who is interested in model
railroading, effective upon the payment of annual dues and acceptance
as a member at aregular meeting by a two-thirds
majority vote of the membership present. Junior members
shall not be entitled to vote or hold office. $10/year
3) Senior Membership shall be open to
any person over the age of 64 who is interested in model
railroading, effective upon the payment of annual dues and acceptance
as a member at a regular meeting by a two-thirds
majority vote of the membership present. Regular members
shall be entitled to onevote and may hold an elected office.
$10/year.
4) Honorary Members my be elected by
the vote of a majority of the club membership at any regular
meeting. They shall not be required to pay dues, nor may they
hold office or vote.
5) Sustaining Membership shall be open
to any person, company,or club desiring to assist the AVRA in
promoting the hobby of model railroading, effective upon the
payment of annual duesand acceptance as a member at a
regular meeting by a two-thirds majority vote of the membership
present. Sustainingmembers shall not be entitled to vote
or hold office. $25/year
- Meetings -
Regular meetings/Operating Sessions are
held on the third Saturdays of each month at 1:30pm, unless
rescheduled by a majority vote of the membership present at the
previous meeting and announced in the club newsletter. The place of
the meeting shall be decided at the previous meeting. They may be
postponed or cancelled due to inclement weather or for other reasons
at the discretion of the president or his designee. Operating
sessions or Work sessions are scheduled for every meeting after the
completion of the business meeting.
