FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Motorcoaches Make Amtrak Connections Between San Antonio And Brownsville, TexasCHICAGO -- Amtrak and Greyhound will introduce motorcoach service between San Antonio and Brownsville, Texas, on Oct. 25, 1998, connecting Brownsville with Amtrak service at San Antonio. The motorcoaches will also serve the intermediate communities of McAllen and Alice, Texas. At San Antonio, Amtrak offers service four days a week west to El Paso, Tucson and Los Angeles, four days a week north to Dallas/Fort Worth, Little Rock and Chicago and three days a week east to New Orleans and Orlando, Fla. In Brownsville, the service originates at the Greyhound terminal at 1134 E. St. Charles, and continues through McAllen (120 S. 16th St.) and Alice (301 N. Johnson St.) to the San Antonio Amtrak Station at 224 Hoffgen St. This is another expansion of the popular Amtrak Thruway Motorcoach Service, which offers through ticketing, scheduling and bus-train reservations, where required.
