Photo Shoot on the Cumbres & Toltec

Trains Unlimited Tours Photo Special

After participating in September 2006 on a Trains Unlimited Tours photo special on the Durango & Silverton narrow gauge railroad in Durango, Colorado, I went to Chama, New Mexico to chase the photo special that they ran on the Cumbres & Toltec. I only had time to photograph on the morning of the first day before I had to head for home.

The day before the special run, the numbers of DRGW 487 were painted over with white paint which is what the DRGW used for its lettering in the 1950's. Paint your own locomotive at 1:1 scale.

The next day I was able to chase the double-headed photo freight up to Los Pinos before heading home.
