Ann Arbor Installs New Crossing Lights

Installation of flasher signals at the Manhattan Boulevard crossing of the Ann Arbor Railroad is underway, Paul Robinette, city traffic engineer, said today. Negotiations between the railroad and the city were started three years ago when city officials demanded protection of the crossing.

Actual preparations to install warning signals began several months after a series of train-automobile accidents at the crossing led Council to threaten the railroad with enforcement of a 10 mile an hour speed limit for locomotives.
