Tug Boats Owned or Leased by the Ann Arbor Railroad

Purchased Aug. 5, 1892 from Starke Lumber Co., Arcadia, Mich. for $3,000.  Used to break ice in Frankfort's harbor.  Proved to small for the job and was tied up at Furnace dock in Franfort, sank in the spring of 1893 and sold.

Saugatuck
tug

Chartered - arrived at Frankfort from Grand Haven on Nov. 24, 1892.

Gillford
tug

Leased from the Chicago Lumber Co., kept at Manistique to assist the boats in and out of the harbor.  Later sold to Mr. A. M. Chesburgh.
