Leased for four months in 1916 from Toronto Hamilton & Buffalo Navigation Co. while their own slip was being completed at Ashtabula, Ohio.

US 214213, 338'x56'x18'3", steel, 2757 gross tons, build at Ecorse, Mich, Great Lakes engineering Works, 1916, hull 129.

Boilers: four scotch marine, 13'2"x12', built by Marine Boiler Works, Toledo, 1916.

Leased to Nicholson Universal Steamship Company in 1935 to carry automobiles between Milwaukee and Muskegon. Requisitioned by War Shipping Administration 1942. Engines removed and hull sold to John Roen. Sides cut down and reduced to a pulpwood barge.

History

Under charter summer, 1906 to Ann Arbor Rail Railway Co. Under Charter, 1924, to Grand Trunk Railway Co.

Laid up at Ludington, MI, along with PERE MARQUETTE 20, during most of 1930's because they had no passenger accommodations.

As PERE MARQUETTE 19: Ran aground in fog, February 6, 1904, at Fox Point, WI, while approaching Milwaukee, fill with water. Re-floated on February 19, 1904, with reported loss of $60,000.

Struck bottom om March 14, 1912, off South Point, while approaching Manitowoc, WI, an punctured a plate, causing leaking; released herself. Repairs made at Manitowoc Dry Dock Co.

September 1916, served as backup for Ann Arbor No. 5 while in dry dock,doing break bulk from Frankfort.[HFB]

Grounded during during blizzard, January 17, 1916, two miles south of Big Point Sable Sable, About 600 feet off shore, while approaching Ludington, MI, from Milwaukee. Released by tug S. M. FISHER, with aid from tugs MERCEREAU, MEYERS, THRID MICHIGAN, and car ferry PERE MARQUETTE 18, as was in Ludington by February 12. Was then taken to to Manitowoc for repairs; loss estimated at $96,000.

Stranded in ice, December 26, 1924, and scuttled about 800 feet from Grand Haven, MI, piers, while leaving port, settled parallel to shore. Work free on December 29, 1924, and taken to Manitowoc for repairs; loss estimated $30,000.
